Our mold was made from an original Habermann Spitfire II fairing.

We do not have any mounting brackets available for the Habermann fairings. You will need to fabricate your own mounting system.

It is our understanding the Habermann fairings used a VW Beetle headlight and chrome ring.

Thunderbolt

As far as we can tell from photos, the Thunderbolt was the 1/2 fairing version of the Spitfire.

Once we finished the Spitfire mold, we used it to develop the Thunderbolt.

Mounting Ideas

The three photos above show the Habermann Spitfire II positioned onto a BMW RT front fairing bracket. It appears as if this might be a good place to start in fabricating the upper mounting bracket for the Habermann Spitfire and Thunderbolt fairings.

This photo shows the BMW RT fairing bracket which mounts under the gas tank. You can see it protruding from each side under the tank and touching the fairing lowers. Again, it appears this may be useful in fabricating the Habermann Spitfire and Thunderbolt fairing brackets.

PLEASE READ

Our fiberglass parts are unfinished. This means you will need to sand, prime and paint the part. You will also need to drill any holes necessary to mount the part. Mounting hardware is not included, only the replacement fiberglass part. If any hardware is included with the part, it will be stated in the description.

NOTE: Occasionally there may be surface imperfections that will need to be sanded or filled and leveled. Some parts may have flashing that will need to be sanded, filled and leveled.

Air bubbles are an inherent problem with hand laid fiberglass.

Occasionally you may expose an air bubble while sanding the surface. Any air bubbles will need to be filled, sanded and leveled.
